EdUHK Team Wins QS Reimagine Education Bronze Award
The Education University of Hong Kong (EdUHK) project Centre of Excellence in Higher Education Teaching and Learning Innovations (CEHETLI), led by EdUHK’s Co-Director of the Global Institute for Emerging Technologies, Professor Lim Cher-ping, has won the Bronze Award in the Power of Partnership category at the prestigious QS Reimagine Education Awards. This recognition highlighted the project's focus on collaboration and innovation to enhance quality, equity and efficiency in education.
The QS Reimagine Education Awards, also known as the ‘Oscars of Education’, celebrate initiatives that significantly enhance learning outcomes and student experiences. The award ceremony took place between 9th to 11th December in London, with over 1,300 submissions across 18 award categories. The CEHETLI project came in third among 23 shortlisted participants in its category.
CEHETLI collaborated with six leading Cambodian universities, the Directorate General of Higher Education, and the World Bank, developing effective pedagogy, harnessing the power of online technology with an innovative TPD (Teacher Professional Development), improving classroom learning, and building the capacity of higher education teachers. Under the collaboration, a graduate certificate programme in teaching and learning was offered to higher education teachers. Using a co-developed set of resources in both English and Khmer, the project has reached over 1,000 higher education teachers and positively impacted the learning experience of more than 30,000 students across Cambodia.
Professor Lim Cher-ping was delighted, saying, "The award not only reflects the hard work and dedication of our team and our partners, it is also a recognition to CEHETLI, as well as exemplifying how strategic partnerships can transform educational practices and promote equitable and inclusive higher education. Together, we are progressing towards a more inclusive and equitable education ecosystem."
The CEHETLI project also won BETT Asia for the Game Changer Award in 2023 and Silver at the eLearning Forum Asia (eLFA) Awards for the Community Outreach Award last week.
