EdUHK Congratulates Student‑Athlete Cado Lee on Winning Gold in Men’s Rugby Sevens
and Stephanie Chan on Securing Bronze in Women’s Rugby Sevens at Asian Games

The Education University of Hong Kong (EdUHK) is pleased to announce that student‑athlete Cado Lee and his teammates clinched the gold medal in the Men’s Rugby Sevens competition this evening (3 October), while Stephanie Chan Chor-ki garnered a bronze medal with her teammates in the Women’s Rugby Sevens at the 20th Asian Games in Aichi‑Nagoya.

 

This is the second gold and the 11th bronze medal won by EdUHK students at this year’s Games.

 

Cado Lee, a member of the Hong Kong, China Men’s Rugby Sevens team, is currently pursuing the Master of Social Sciences in Sports Coaching and Management at EdUHK, while Stephanie Chan Chor-ki, a member of the Women’s Rugby Sevens team, is studying the University’s Bachelor of Health Education (Honours) programme. 

 

In the Men’s Rugby Sevens final, the squad secured a commanding 26–0 victory in the final, earning Hong Kong, China its 11th gold medal at the Games.

 

EdUHK President Professor John Lee Chi‑Kin extended his warm congratulations to both Cado Lee and Stephanie Chan Chor-ki, he said, “Cado and the Hong Kong, China Men’s Rugby Sevens team gave their utmost effort and delivered an inspiring performance, while Stephanie demonstrated resilience and excellence in the Women’s Rugby Sevens, contributed to Hong Kong’s outstanding achievement. Their accomplishments have filled the entire EdUHK community with immense pride. Through their performances, they showcased the values of teamwork, physical strength, technical excellence and agility, reflecting the power of unity in overcoming challenges and the perseverance that defines true athletes. We look forward to seeing Cado and Stephanie continue to shine both on the sporting stage and in their future endeavours.”
