幼教工作環境日趨複雜,因而引起越來越多的關注。教師工作緊扣於專業道德決定,以回應幼兒之多元學習需要,尤其是那些來自社經弱勢背景幼兒的需求。本研究採用現象學的方法去理解幼稚園教師在日常工作中對專業能動性的看法和實踐經驗。研究邀請來自香港貧困率較高的地區之幼稚園教師參與訪問,以分析其與社經弱勢幼兒相關的工作中,對專業能動性的不同理解和經驗。

2015年,聯合國成員國同意17項全球永續發展目標(SDG),旨在消除貧窮、保護地球、和確保全民繁榮。研究團隊致力於以下永續發展目標的實現:

 

 

幼稚園教師正面對各種相關的挑戰,不少社經弱勢幼兒均處於經濟貧困和生活條件惡劣的情況。有見及此,本研究以倫理關懷和社會正義的角度探討專業能動性,提出培養教師的道德決定能力之重要性,這不 僅是為了支援來自社經弱勢背景的幼兒,亦是為了改變在新自由主義政策影響下的幼教工作環境。儘管學術文獻提出了這項觀點,目前仍然缺乏實證研究,聚焦探討幼稚園教師在複雜的工作環境中,如何理解、實踐和協商其專業能動性。

本研究對幼稚園教師在不同的社會文化和機構背景以及限制下所展現出來的專業能動性,建構一個深入、情境化的分析。此項研究將加強學術界對專業能動性的理解,並能重構教師專業的概念。研究結果有助幼稚園教師在面對複雜的工作環境時,懂得運用其專業能動性去面對各種挑戰和尋找箇中機會。本研究亦為政策制定者和學者提出建議,重新檢視幼教教師培訓和專業發展,以協助幼稚園教師支援來自社經弱勢背景的幼兒。 

 

本研究以現象學資料為基礎,從香港幼稚園教師的角度對專業能動性進行了獨特的描述。它加深了我們思考在面對來自社經弱勢幼兒工作上專業能動性的意義,以及教師們如何在不同的社會文化和制度背景下專業能動性的經歷。此結果擴展了目前的研究,以探討幼稚園教師如何在工作日益複雜的情況下實踐專業能動性,並為重構教師專業精神提供另一種觀點。
