幼教工作环境日趋复杂,因而引起越来越多的关注。教师工作紧扣于专业道德决定,以回应幼儿之多元学习需要,尤其是那些来自社经弱势背景幼儿的需求。本研究采用现象学的方法去理解幼稚园教师在日常工作中对专业能动性的看法和实践经验。研究邀请来自香港贫困率较高的地区之幼稚园教师参与访问,以分析其与社经弱势幼儿相关的工作中,对专业能动性的不同理解和经验。

2015年,联合国成员国同意17项全球永续发展目标(SDG),旨在消除贫穷、保护地球、和确保全民繁荣。研究团队致力于以下永续发展目标的实现:

 

 

幼稚园教师正面对各种相关的挑战,不少社经弱势幼儿均处于经济贫困和生活条件恶劣的情况。有见及此,本研究以伦理关怀和社会正义的角度探讨专业能动性,提出培养教师的道德决定能力之重要性,这不 仅是为了支援来自社经弱势背景的幼儿,亦是为了改变在新自由主义政策影响下的幼教工作环境。尽管学术文献提出了这项观点,目前仍然缺乏实证研究,聚焦探讨幼稚园教师在复杂的工作环境中,如何理解、实践和协商其专业能动性。

本研究对幼稚园教师在不同的社会文化和机构背景以及限制下所展现出来的专业能动性,建构一个深入、情境化的分析。此项研究将加强学术界对专业能动性的理解,并能重构教师专业的概念。研究结果有助幼稚园教师在面对复杂的工作环境时,懂得运用其专业能动性去面对各种挑战和寻找个中机会。本研究亦为政策制定者和学者提出建议,重新检视幼教教师培训和专业发展,以协助幼稚园教师支援来自社经弱势背景的幼儿。 

 

本研究以现象学资料为基础,从香港幼稚园教师的角度对专业能动性进行了独特的描述。它加深了我们思考在面对来自社经弱势幼儿工作上专业能动性的意义,以及教师们如何在不同的社会文化和制度背景下专业能动性的经历。此结果扩展了目前的研究,以探讨幼稚园教师如何在工作日益复杂的情况下实践专业能动性,并为重构教师专业精神提供另一种观点。
