EdUHK Welcomes Students with Flag-Raising Ceremony
Over 1,000 students and staff gathered at The Education University of Hong Kong (EdUHK)’s Tai Po campus to mark the start of the 2025/26 academic year with a solemn and inspiring Flag-Raising Ceremony.
The ceremony was conducted by a flag-raising team comprising students from EdUHK and EdUHK Jockey Club Primary School, who jointly escorted the national, regional, and university flags into the venue. As the national anthem played, all attendees stood in respect and sang in unison.
Deputy Council Chairman Professor Terence Chan Ho-wah encouraged participants to deepen their sense of national identity and pride through the ceremony. Marking the 80th anniversary of the victory in the Chinese People’s War of Resistance and the World Anti-Fascist War, he called on everyone to remember history, cherish peace, and work together for a better future.
President Professor John Lee Chi-Kin warmly welcomed the new cohort to the EdUHK community. He reaffirmed the University’s commitment to nurturing innovative minds and diverse talent, noting the opening of new learning spaces such as the Tai Po Academic Building and the West Kowloon Study Centre at the Xiqu Centre. Guided by its core mission of “Education, Talent, Virtue”, EdUHK continues to contribute to the development of Hong Kong and the nation through excellence in teacher education. Let’s make the most of this new chapter together, shaping the future of education!
