SDG Living Laboratory @ Tai Po – Community Well-being Project
The SDG Living Laboratory @ Tai Po – Community Well-being project is a flagship initiative that demonstrates EdUHK’s commitment to public health, intergenerational learning, and community well-being. Launched with an opening ceremony in June at the District Council Secretariat of Tai Po District Office, the project collaborates with Tai Po District Council members, care teams, and community organisations to address the well-being of elders.
One-Day Student Experiential Programme for Elders
This special event welcomed over 30 elders from the Tai Po community to EdUHK for a day of enriching activities, including:
• Guided campus tours, including student dormitories and the Hong Kong Museum of Education
• Health education workshops on physical activity, brain health, and mental health
• A hands-on STEM workshop featuring a drone experience
• A graduation ceremony to celebrate participation
The programme is designed to foster intergenerational connections and to provide elders with new educational and well-being experiences. The project is open to the elderly public in Tai Po, reflecting EdUHK’s commitment to community engagement and lifelong learning. It is also set to continue annually, with future plans for hearing assessments and nutrition guidance.
