The GES 2023 also covered 293 graduates of EdUHK programmes complementary to education, including the Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Language Studies, the Bachelor of Social Sciences (Honours) in Global and Environmental Studies, the Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Creative Arts and Culture, the Bachelor of Social Sciences (Honours) in Psychology, and the Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Special Education. The survey revealed that 91.1% of respondents were employed or had chosen to further their studies, with an average starting monthly salary of $21,109.

Dean of Students Dr Sammy Hui King-fai said, “The GES showed that EdUHK’s graduates remained well sought-after by the education sector. EdUHK has been incorporating elements such as innovative teaching and information technology into undergraduates’ curricula, enabling students to fully adapt to changes in society. Facing the mobility of talent in recent years, we believe the graduates can demonstrate their strengths by equipping themselves for their careers and setting clear goals.”

Registrar Professor Eric Tsang Po-keung said EdUHK offered more multidisciplinary programmes to leverage the University’s traditional strengths in teacher education. According to the latest round of amendment of JUPAS programme choices in May 2024, the University’s Bachelor of Education in History and Bachelor of Science in Sports Science and Coaching programmes continued to be popular among DSE students, with 43 and 38 applicants, respectively, competing for each place. EdUHK will continue to cultivate students with diversified training to cope with complex and ever-changing social environments.
