EdUHK Welcomes New Local and Non-Local Students at Orientation Days

The Education University of Hong Kong (EdUHK) hosted a two-day orientation event on 18 and 19 August on its Tai Po campus, to welcome 600 local and non-local new undergraduates and higher diploma students. The event provided an opportunity for students to explore and experience campus life through a diverse range of activities.

The Orientation Days activities included meet-and-greet sessions with peer mentors, campus tours, hall visits, student performances, a student organisations fair, and talks on the National Security Law and anti-fraud by the Hong Kong Police Force. These activities were aimed to support new students in planning their academic journeys and immersing themselves in a comprehensive learning experience, while also fostering meaningful engagement within their vibrant campus life. Many freshmen expressed their excitement about joining the EdUHK community and looked forward to their future studies and personal development.

EdUHK President Professor John Lee Chi-Kin welcomed the incoming students during the event. “This year marks the 10th anniversary of the University’s retitling. Guided by the ‘Education Futures’ vision of our 2025-2031 Strategic Development Plan, we will continue to provide a high-quality learning environment to nurture outstanding, morally responsible as well as future-ready educators and talents for the Hong Kong SAR, the nation and the world,” Professor Lee said.

Professor Bill Yeung Chi-ho, Dean of Students, added, “EdUHK is a cradle for nurturing future leaders. Education is about guiding students to find their path, and we hope every new student will find their aspirations here and develop into a diverse talent with an international vision.”

In the new academic year, EdUHK will continue to expand diverse learning opportunities, encouraging students to make full use of the University’s resources and seize opportunities in leadership training, community service, mainland and overseas exchanges, and professional training, to engage in campus life actively.
