EdUHK Showcases Innovative Technologies on Cultural and Creative Arts Education
This is the fourth year The Education University of Hong Kong (EdUHK) has joined InnoCarnival, a flagship event at InnoTech Month, organised by the HKSAR Innovation and Technology Commission. During the nine-day InnoCarnival 2018 run at Hong Kong Science Park, the EdUHK Knowledge Transfer Sub-office set up a booth under the theme “Innovate for Cultural and Creative Arts Education” to showcase projects that use innovation and technologies in music, visual arts and Chinese culture education.
EdUHK has been working closely with local schools to design innovative curriculum and teaching materials for cultural and creative arts education. Visitors to the EdUHK booth enjoyed following the teaching materials to compose and perform music using ‘virtual instruments’. Even those without any music education background had a chance to design and create their own musical instruments using electronic building blocks. In the visual arts education zone, visitors experienced how technology and new medium impact the creativity of visual arts. The “Animated Chinese History for Curious Minds Project” also attracted a lot of school students, raising their interest in the life stories and positive attributes of key figures in Chinese history.
Please take this opportunity to visit the EdUHK booth at InnoCarnival in Hong Kong Science Park until 11 November 2018.
Projects on show at the EdUHK Booth include:
- Mobile-performing & composing in music education, Dr Jason Chen Chi-wai (Department of Cultural and Creative Arts)
