EdUHK and Jockey Club Join Hands to Hold the Inauguration of InnoPower Education Fellowship
The JC InnoPower Education Fellowship (the “Fellowship”) is a 15-month talent and sector development programme initiated and funded by The Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust, co-created with The Education University of Hong Kong (EdUHK), and offered in collaboration with the Center to Support Excellence in Teaching (CSET) of Stanford Graduate School of Education. The inauguration ceremony was held on 4 October.
Officiating at the ceremony were EdUHK President Professor John Lee Chi-Kin, Ms Elsie Tsang, Executive Manager (Talent and Sector Development of The Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust); Ms Sammi Sham, Principal Development Officer (Professional Development and Training) of The Education Bureau; project supervisor cum EdUHK Adjunct Research Chair Professor of International Educational Leadership Professor Allan Walker; Project leader cum EdUHK Acting Department Head of Education Policy and Leadership Dr Lu Jiafang, guest speaker Professor Zhao Yong, and Dr Terry Quong programme designer and trainer.
Addressed at the ceremony, EdUHK President Professor Lee welcomed the first cohort of 21 JC InnoPower Education Fellows, their teams, and their Innovation and Head Innovation Coaches. Professor Lee thanked The Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust for initiating the project and for their generous donation.
The Fellowship programme provides school principals and leaders with broad exposure to global trends, innovative practices from Mainland China and local best practices, while building their adaptive leadership skills to tackle ever-changing challenges in schools. Coupled with intensive coaching support and seed funding to initiate change, the training-and-learning model will bring seasoned innovation coaches and educators together to share experience and expertise in a Community of Practice to nurture school innovation and collaboration.
