Dr Hung Keung Receives DFA Design for Asia Awards
Dr Hung Keung, Associate Professor at the Department of Cultural and Creative Arts of The Education University of Hong Kong, received two Merit Awards at the DFA Design for Asia Awards 2020 for two creative art projects: “Circular Reflection: Participatory Interactive Experiential Design (Interactive Art)” and “Where to go? Where to come from? V.4.0 (Digital Moving Images)”.
His project “Circular Reflection: Participatory Interactive Experiential Design (Interactive Art)” explores the idea that it is only when people attempt to feel that they will be able to comprehend the complexity and depth of their minds. The other project is a creative practice series of a video installation piece, based on Dr Hung’s visits to the US and to his hometown in the mainland. He applied an innovative application by multiplying various significant figures from the East and West to stand out the cultural difference and shock in his research journey, which led him to further question: Where we are going? Where are we coming from?
The DFA Design for Asia Awards is the flagship programme of the Hong Kong Design Centre, celebrating design excellence and acknowledging outstanding designs with Asian perspectives. Since its launch in 2003, the Award has been a stage for design talent and corporations to showcase their design projects internationally.
