About the Distinguished Lecture
Learning from the past helps us understand the present and shape the future.
Considered “one of the most celebrated and controversial leaders” in human history, Napoléon Bonaparte left an indelible mark on modern Europe and its civilisation in the realms of law, religion, culture, education and administration.
Mr Dominique de Villepin is former French Prime Minister and currently Chairman of the International Advisory board of China Europe International Business School and Advisor of “Belt and Road Think Tank, China”. He will enlighten the audience on why Napoléon is still today one of the biggest world global icons.
Joining the dialogue with Mr de Villepin will be Mr Andrew Wells, former Chief Secretary and Acting Governor of St. Helena island where Napoléon spent the last years of his life; and Professor Lui Tai-lok, Vice President (Research and Development) and Director of The Academy of Hong Kong Studies, EdUHK.
